Founded in 2009, Arty Party Cakes moved to our current main road premises in December 2010. It is now among the leading shops in the South West for sugar craft supplies and bespoke celebration cakes.
Run by Ian and Anna-Marie Gill, the business continues to expand its range of quality sugar craft products from many of the indutry leading suppliers.

why do i need a consultation?
We will need to discuss in detail your exact requirements such as the number of guests, cake size(s), decoration, colour schemes and themes.
Consider gathering together any colour swatchs to match dresses, flowers, table decorations and/ or any pictures or photographs of examples you like.
You may also wish to consider how your cake is to be displayed. For this we also offer a cake stand hire service.
Consultations are preferrably held in our Weymouth based shop, as meeting face to face is always nice! However if you live further away or cannot get to the shop, by telephone is fine.
what types of cakes do you make?
Arty Party Cakes offer two ranges of celebration cakes.
Premium: Our bespoke hand-made on the premises luxury range of various sponge flavours including vanilla, lemon, chocolate, carrot, coffee, and a tradional fruit cake made with brandy. Within this range special requests and dietry restrictions can be catered for, please ask.

Budget: Our pre-made off the shelf range of vanilla and chocolate sponges and a traditional fruit cake for that celebration on a budget.
what ingredients do you use?
Within our Premium Range of cakes we use local free-range eggs and locally sourced fruit and vegetables whenever possible.
Arty Party Cakes are also able to cater for those with dietry restrictions, but please note we do use whole, chopped and ground nuts in a variety of our recipes, so sadly we unable to guarantee totally nut-free options.
how much do your cakes cost?
Birthdays...
Round and square sponge cakes from £35.00
Carved and novelty cakes from £55.00
Full payment is required at the time of ordering.
Weddings...
Round 3 tier sponge cakes (6", 8", 10") from £255.00
A 20%deposit is required to secure your chosen date and the final balance three weeks prior to delivery.
Every cake is individually designed and following your consultation, we will send you a written quote outlining everything discussed.
when should i order my cake?
Ideally you should consider ordering your cake three months prior to delivery to ensure the availablity of your chosen date especially in peak seasons.
However if that is not possible, we do take orders as and when dates are free, so you may be lucky!

can i change my order?
The information you supply at your consultation is used to create a cake specifically for you.
With plenty of notice we may be able to accommodate small changes to the details, but once an order is confirmed we cannot change the overall design or the main ingredients.
do you deliver?
Arty Party Cakes offer free delivery and set-up to wedding venues within 10 miles of our shop, which includes Weymouth, Dorchester, Portland and many surrounding villages.
Deliveries further afield will be priced based on distance and time taken. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Regrettably due to ever spiralling fuel costs, small orders under £50.00 can no longer be delivered free of charge.
Why not collect your cake? There is free parking on the road outside the shop at Lodmoor Hill and a free car park behind the Tesco Express opposite us.
what happens if i need to cancel my order?
If you need to cancel your order for any reason our refund policy is as follows...
The 20%deposit is non-refundable.
In addition, any items purchased by Arty Party Cakes specifically for your cake / event will also be charged.
Any remaining balance will be treated as follows...
60 days or more before your event 80%of any remaining balance will be refunded.
60-22 days before your event 40%of any remaining balance will be refunded.
21 days or less no refunds.
cake stand and baking tin hire
Stands: We have a variety of metal 2, 3 and 4 tier and base stands available to hire for £10.00 payable at the time of booking.
A deposit of £20.00 will be required on collection or at the time of your final payment. Id may also be required.
Baking tins: We have a large range of round, square, petal, hexagonal and number tins (with bases) to hire for only £3.00 and £5.00 deposit.
Deposits will be refunded once the items are confirmed complete, undamaged and in a clean condition.
It is your responsibility to ensure safe keeping of all hired items and packaging supplied.
do you hold lessons or classes?
No currently there are no plans to run lessons. However, local sugarcraft masterchef Rowland Foote has limited spaces on his three autumn courses, to be held at Patisserie Rowland in St Thomas Street, Weymouth...
